My best friend in the whole wide world came to visit yesterday. She helped cheer me up and she brought her two adorable twin girls. Snapping a picture is very hard when baby are at the age that they crawl and squirm and wiggle, but it was fun trying nonetheless.

It was a gorgeous day today! These are the trees right behind my neighbor's house. I tilted up and just got the tops of them and that beautiful sky. Tomorrow back to the different flowers at my mother's home.

September 11, 2006 ---A flag memorial for those lost on that day. This memorial is set up at the RiverFront Park in Salem, Oregon each year. There is a flag for each person who died in each of the crashes, towers, as well as those service men and women who have lost their lives since.
I had to sneak into the park after hours, since I'm a night owl. But I think the flash illuminate enough flags that you can see what a labor of love and honor this tribute is. I adjusted the contrast to try and show them better.

Today is a sad day, I found out about the loss of a great animal conservationist, Steve Irwin. You may know him as the Croc Hunter from down under. Though I didn't know him or his family personaly I stillfeel as if I've lost a friend. I hope you can all understand that I can't post anything else today. Instead I offer a moment of silence on my site in memory of a guy who devoted his life to preaching conservation and education. You will be missed, Steve. God Bless and see you in Heaven.

These are two pics from my town's city hall. As you can tell its an old house thats been converted. Our town has around 1800 people in it, so we don't need a very large city hall. The flowers are planted on the corners to welcome you into the building. I hope to get down to the downtown area over the next few days and take some more photos. Its a great teeny tiny town.

This some beautiful flowers in my neighbor's front yard (across the street from me). I asked her if it was ok if I tromped through her yard to take photos of her pretty flowers. I have a close up of one of the lillies(?) that I'll probably put on tomorrow, as well as some daliahs for the next day.

This house is my other across the street neighbor. As you can tell, similiar structures...but lovely black accent shutters. The architect that did the other house also did this one. Unfortunetly he only did the two houses in the neighborhood before he had an accident and passed away. All the other houses were done by a different company, and you can really tell.

This is a pic of my across the street neighbor. They have the nicest front yard. I should have moved the camera over to get a better picture of it. Its so green and pretty! They have wonderful flower baskets and boxes. The grass is so green, makes me want to water my yard..lol
